Strength
I think or rather used to think that strength was rooted in the fight. Prevailing. Surviving the things determined to tear us down. But true strength isn't necessarily overcoming the fight; it is how we fight. It is not the sword itself but how we wield it. And sometimes it's not about survival at all. It's about living through the worst possible loss, heartache and pain, regardless of whether or not we make it to the other side. So there is no shame in the struggle. Just make sure you don't stay there forever. Some days you will feel nothing at all, other days you might feel everything. It's okay. These feelings were not built overnight. They are created over time. So allow yourself that time. Situations are not the reason your feelings change. Sometimes things are the way they are for no reason. You can't tiptoe around your heart in fear of pissing people off or hurting their feelings. Sometimes you need to be a little selfish to avoid a life of complacency...
