INTUITION

  You know you shouldn't do it, but you do it anyway. And then you probably regret doing it. All of us at one point in our lives must have felt this. Something in you guides you into making decisions. That something is called intuition.  Now, intuition is often termed illogical and unreliable because it cannot be measured or explained. It's a feeling you get, an uncomfortable, weird feeling that can't be explained physiologically.  In psychology, intuition is an epiphenomenon which is holistic and automated. Intuition gives us a fast and effective response when most needed, based on known facts and experiences.  R Hogarth in his paper states that intuition offers a reduction in overall cognitive load and the ability to respond instantly while providing confidence in our knowledge and decision making even though it may defy analysis.
