SS: Love

I have never told him I have been in love with him as far as I can remember. It's just one of those things that I know exist but chooses to ignore.

He was in my every thought. My every breath. I woke up thinking of him. I went to bed thinking of him. My love for him was one of those cliches.

But I never got to tell him I loved him.

Years had passed since I last saw him. I had moved on with my life, trying to forget about him. But every now and then, I would think of him and wonder what could have been.

It was a chilly winter night and I was walking down the street, lost in thought. That's when I saw him, standing at the end of the road, looking at me. As he walked towards me, I could feel my heart racing. It had been years. But at that moment it did not feel that way. Something in him called out to me.

"Hey," he said, smiling.

"Hey," I replied, trying to sound casual.

We stood there for a few moments, the silence between us almost palpable. And then, without warning, he said those three words that I had always longed to hear.

"I love you."

I was stunned. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I looked at him, trying to gauge his expression, but his face was unreadable.

"I love you too," I finally managed to say.

And then, without saying another word, he took my hand and we walked together, hand in hand, under the moonlit sky. We walked for what seemed like hours, talking and laughing, enjoying each other's company.

As we reached my doorstep, he turned to me and said, "I'm sorry it took me so long to tell you how I feel."

"It's okay," I replied, smiling. "As long as we're together now."

And with that, we shared a kiss, sealing our love forever.

"Finally," he said, "I've got you" in a tone that chilled me to the bones.

I looked up at him to ask what was wrong when I saw him looking at me with cold, dead eyes.

The change was instant. The air around me went cold. My legs froze and I couldn't move.

"I never left you," he said, his voice a low, menacing growl. "I've always been here, watching you."

I tried to scream, but he put his hand over my mouth, stifling my cries for help.

"Don't be afraid," he whispered. "We were meant to be together. Forever."

He pulled me close, his body cold and lifeless against mine. I struggled to break free, but it was no use. He was too strong. And then, in a sudden burst of energy, I managed to push him off me and run away, heart pounding with terror.

But something happened, I don't know what. The world had suddenly gone quiet.

The next moment when I looked around he was standing in front of me.

His hands reached out to me while I slowly backed away.

"You don't have to run now", he said "I made your dream come true. Now you can be with me forever."

I was confused and scared. This all felt like a nightmare. So I walked out onto the street and jumped in front of a vehicle.

I woke up startled, gasping for breath. I could feel my sheets beneath my fingers. It was over.

I looked out to the window and it was still dark. But I couldn't go back to bed. So I decided to take a walk.

I was walking down the street when I saw him.

And it happened all over again. And again. An endless cycle of torment. And then it clicked.

This was my hell.

I died a very long time ago.

He had killed me.
